Jamal began his music career at the age of ten when he began playing the clarinet. At age sixteen, he switched to the alto saxophone and has not looked back.
Jamal has been a resident of Charleston, South Carolina for over ten years. He has proudly performed in hundreds of weddings from Florida to Delaware, Minnesota and even as far as Milan, Italy within the past decade. His style is heavily rooted in blues, funk, pop and R&B (with just a small bit of jazz). He is not the kind of saxophone player that simply sits in a corner behind the DJ.
